16 Days of Activism: Orange the World – #HearMeToo
Today we join the international community to End Violence against Women and girls. We are adding our voices to the #16Days of Activism to promote peace, security, tolerance and dialogue in conflict regions in the world. This global campaign shall runs form the 25 November until Human Rights Day on 10 December.
Worldwide, 1 in 3 women experience violence in their lifetime. We can change that – big or small picture by breaking the silence.
“Violence is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding: it seeks to annihilate rather than convert. Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destroys community and makes brotherhood impossible. It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue. Violence ends up defeating itself. It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers.” ~ Martin Luther King
During this #16days, we will amplify our voices for peace. We want to change the narratives and perspective of building peaceful communities. We are breaking the silence and advocate for peace.
Women and youths voices count for Peace. Peace building is not only about stopping violence but also about preventing violence, promoting peace, and intercultural dialogue.
Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding
Until our voices are heard, We will not stop advocating for peaceful measures to end the war in the Anglophones regions of Cameroon.
Women and youths shall be trained as peace actors and mediators in rural communities to build Peaceful communities. So much water has gone beyond the bridge and the rate of GBV’s is at it’s peak .
“Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time; the need for mankind to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Mankind must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.” ~ Martin Luther King
We call on all to add their voices for peace and stop many people from dying. #StoptheKilling.
