Working to enhance voices of grassroots women in community mediation and peacebuilding

Over the past weeks, we have been actively working to enhance the voices of grassroots women in community mediation and peacebuilding processes across the Seven (7) divisions.

Rounding up in #Mezam_Division our Focal Persons empowered the communities and encouraged the women to take leadership roles in local peacebuilding processes and ensure their inclusion in decision-making in Bali, Santa, Tubah, Bamenda I, Bamenda II, Bamenda III, and Bafut Subdivisions.

They have raised awareness about the vital role women play in fostering sustainable peace. Community and religious leaders, women’s groups, and youth were engaged in meaningful conversations about breaking barriers and amplifying women’s perspectives in peace efforts.

We are proud of the overwhelming response and the increased interest from women ready to contribute to peaceful solutions in their communities. we observed increased interest from women in contributing to these processes, with many expressing a strong desire to remain engaged in future initiatives.

Together, we are paving the way for a more inclusive and resilient peacebuilding process.
Our deep gratitude goes to the Open Society Foundations, our partner,s and collaborators.
