Butla Jocelyn Sama

Community Engagement Officer

Butla Jocelyn is an educationist and a community engagement and support worker with experience for the past 15 years. A holder of a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of Bamenda. She is presently a Master’s 1 student at the Faculty of Science in the University of Yaounde 1  Department of Administration.
     
She is one of the co-founders of Mother of Hope Cameroon-MOHCAM. She has served the organization in the following capacities: as a financial officer,  she has trained over 500 women and girls in income-generating and entrepreneur skills. She has carried out community engagements and livelihood support programs for internally displaced populations. 

 She is so passionate about building violence-free schools and communities. Her impact can be seen in the successful implementation of the projects in the domain of MenEngage and the fight against gender-based Violence, Child marriage, sexual reproductive health rights of adolescents, and peacebuilding and mediation projects. She believes in the education of the girl child and the transformation of underprivileged women living in conflict-affected settings.
She is also passionate about promoting lasting peace and sustainable development in schools and communities.
