Who we are

The Women Peace builders Network (WOPEN) is a non-partisan, association of over 30 women led organizations and female activist from the conflict-affected region of the North West, Cameroon. WOPEN is an initiative that originated from the women's first sit-down lamentation in the North West region in 2018.This collaborative action aimed at elevating women's voices affected by the crisis and enhancing their effective participation in the peacebuilding process. WOPEN is focused on amplifying women voices in community mediation, conflict resolution and management, UNSCR 1325 and 2250.

Our Objectives

  • To network with individuals, stakeholders and CSOs passionate about community mediation, peace building and policy reforms.
  • To share experiences/strategies and build trust within affected communities to overcome challenges and build sustainable peace, security and development.
  • To pursue women’s rights, gender equality and engage in conflict resolution, management and psychosocial support.
  • To amplify the voices of women at grassroots and foster sisterhood.
  • To empower women as agents of peace through capacity strengthening and research.
